what would you expect from spielberg in this movie? forget about all those technical and artistic qualities. spielberg is certainly undoubtable. what intrigued me to watch this picture was spielberg's political stance on the crisis in the middle east. those who watched spielberg's taking side of jews in schlinder's list would assume that he would do the same in munich. well, to some extent he did. but i guess he attempted to be cautiously fair in this complex issue. that's why he focused the storyline on the horrible experience of former mosad agent Avner who was unofficially commisioned by the israeli government to take vengeance on muslim terorrists but then turned anxious of his government's retaliation policy. you can see how depressive he is from the poster aside.
btw, this is the first movie i watched entirely without going to the restroom. what an achievement considering that it's 2.5 hours long.
in your view, what kind of an effect will this movie have on the American public? That's what I'm curious to know. How will this change their opinion on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, especially with the recent Hamas election victory?

i guess not much effect. american people like watching movies but i think they rarely take it seriously. tv is still more influential than movie in shaping public opinion.
